The Liquid Production Area Leader is responsible for supervising all daily liquid production operations to meet predetermined production schedules to ensure an optimal balance of quality, service, and efficiency to achieve operational excellence. They will perform production activities and operate production equipment in accordance with BRC requirements, as well as all Illes SOP’s, Good Manufacturing Practices (GMP’s), Quality standards and time sequences. This position supports individual operators to perform the functions of their jobs effectively and efficiently in order to increase production and maintain quality. ESSENTIAL JOB FUNCTIONS: Enforce safety, GMP and sanitation regulations. Check raw materials, containers and label information against batch sheet for RM number, weight/quantity and lot #; notify Supervisor, Weigh Room lead and QA technician of any discrepancies. Add materials in sequence per batch instruction. Dump or pour specified amounts of materials into machinery or equipment. Controls blend time per formula. Observe production or monitor equipment to ensure safe and efficient operation. Examine materials, ingredients, or products visually or with hands to ensure conformance to established standards. Report equipment malfunctions to team leaders or maintenance staff Observe work and monitor Human machine interface (HMI), equipment, and other indicators to ensure operators conform to production or processing standards. Coordinate sample collection with QA with the necessary information for testing. Accurately fill containers to specified label weight or volume. Safely operate production processing, packaging, and powered industrial equipment. Load materials and products into package processing equipment. Examine and inspect containers, materials, and products to ensure that packing specifications are met. Stack finished containers on pallets per specifications. Accurately punch in make and fill times on the batch sheet using RiteTime. Clean and maintain equipment, using hand tools in accordance with health and safety standards Check screens and magnets after filling and document information on batch sheet. Mark and label containers, container tags, or products, using marking tools. Complete job outputs in Ross, apply LPNs and move finished goods to warehouse. Prepare and maintain production reports and required QA reports accurately and timely. Requisition materials, supplies, equipment parts, or repair services. Maintain appropriate and professional written and verbal communication. Ensure that food safety, legality, integrity, and quality standards are always maintained. Perform other tasks as assigned by Management. EXPERIENCE 2-4 years Food Industry Experience plus minimum 2 years Packaging Equipment experience required. Social Perceptiveness — Being aware of others' reactions and understanding why they react as they do. Teamwork -work closely with all departments in a professional, cooperative manner. Time Management — Managing one's own time and the time of others. Troubleshooting — Determining causes of operating errors and deciding what to do about it. PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS: Ability to crouch and bend Ability to handle 55 gallon drums after training Ability to lift 100 lbs. with assistance Ability to lift 50 lbs. continuously Ability to stand continuously Ability to tilt over and pour out up to 500 lbs. with assistance Bend, stoop, climb, reach above shoulders, crouch, push and pull frequently Use feet, hands, wrists, arms, shoulders constantly. Work while standing on a 7-step ladder with rails.
