We are seeking a compassionate Life Skills Instructor/Aide to assist individuals with disabilities in achieving independence. This role involves supporting clients with SMART goals (Specific, Measurable, Achievable, Relevant, Time-bound) , focusing on meal prep and cooking, studying for their driver’s license, and promoting self-efficiency. The position is part-time at 3 hours per week, and mileage for travel will be reimbursed. Responsibilities: Assist clients with meal preparation and cooking, including meal planning, grocery shopping, and basic cooking instruction Provide reminders and support for studying and preparing for the driver’s license exam Promote self-efficiency by teaching life skills such as time management, organization, and daily routines Help clients set and achieve SMART goals aimed at increasing their independence Maintain accurate records of client progress and adjust goals as needed Collaborate with families, caregivers, and other professionals to provide comprehensive support What We’re Looking For : A compassionate and patient individual who is passionate about teaching life skills and fostering independence. A reliable person with strong communication skills who can provide consistent support and reminders. Experience in working with individuals with disabilities is preferred, particularly in teaching life skills, but we are open to training the right candidate. A goal-oriented individual who can help the person served achieve their SMART goals . Requirements : Must be 18 years or older. High school diploma or equivalent. Valid driver’s license and reliable transportation. Ability to pass a background check. Must be comfortable with pets in the home. Physical ability to assist with daily living tasks and transportation needs. Hours : This position offers 3 hours per week , with flexible scheduling options.
