PurposeHow does the position contribute to the success of the operation, division and company?The Safety and Environmental Coordinator is responsible for creating, with Management assistance, a culture of safety within the plant. The Coordinator is responsible for assisting in development and implementation of safety and environmental policies and procedures onsite as well as working with the division safety team (comprised of the Division Environmental and Safety Manager, and plant site safety and environmental coordinators across the millwork division) to develop and maintain a consistent safety driven culture. This position will lead efforts in data collection and analytics for both safety and environmental purposes. The role will work in partnership with leaders to implement best practices and monitor compliance with environmental and safety requirements . The Safety and Environmental Coordinator shall monitor and advise the facility staff on safety and environmental compliance issues. Such issues include but not limited to following: safety regulation compliance, hazardous materials management, hazardous waste management, storm:water management, waste water management; spill prevention planning (SPPC), sampling, air emissions regulations.Essential Duties, Responsibilities, Expectations and Performance Measures What measures or metrics will the individual be measured on and what level of performance is required? Other duties may be assigned.SAFETYCreate and implement safety plans while ensuring that they are being followed dailyConduct New Hire Orientation and training on all essential safety policiesEducate employees on safety standards and expectations as well as safe machinery operationConduct monthly safety training for all employeesImplement safety procedures and follow up to be sure they are followedOrganize Plant Safety Committee and support hourly employees in leading the PSCMaintain proper safety equipment and personal protective equipment for employees.Manage the Hazard Communication process and Safety Data Sheets.Attend safety walks and inspections before or during each project to analyze safety risks Daily safety walks through facilityProvide recommendations for improving safety in the workplaceInvestigate accidents that occur onsite and identify possible causes of the accidentMaintain documentation of the companys safety procedures, accidents and related eventsIncident evaluation and analysisENVIRONMENTAL Update, implement, and periodically review an organizational environmental plan (e.g., obtain, update, and maintain plans, permits, and standard operating procedures (SOP))Prepare, review, and update environmental investigation reportsAnalyze scientific data and do quality:control checksMonitor progress of environmental improvement programsInspect facility and programs to ensure organizational compliance with environmental regulationsEducate personnel regarding environmental complianceLeadership CompetenciesWhich of the 16 Zenger Folkman Leadership Competencies are critical for the successful performance of this job?Solves problems prolifically.Focuses on results.Builds relationships.Collaboration and teamwork.Takes InitiativeEfficient and effective Communicater.Knowledge/Skills/Education and Continuous TrainingWhat skills/certification/education must the individual have/maintain/gain?
