George Fox University's Learning Support Services Department is seeking a highly motivated individual to join their team as a Learning Support Services (LSS) Success Specialist. About the Job: The LSS Success Specialist will be primarily responsible for supporting students on academic probation in their pursuit of academic success. The individual in this role will partner with the Learning Support Services team and other campus partners to elevate academic and personal flourishing of all high-risk students, and will advance AI systems to enhance learning and success. Job responsibilities include, but are not limited to: Collaborating with the Director of Learning Support Services to develop and maintain a robust program to support students on academic probation. Partnering with the Director of Learning Support Services and other campus collaborators to advance the use of AI systems to promote the learning and success of students on academic probation, as well as disseminating best practices to students and employees across campus. Serving as the primary instructor for CPAS 105 Individual Academic Coaching, meeting weekly, biweekly, individually, or in groups with Academic Success Program students, students returning following academic suspension, and other students on academic probation. Managing the CPAS 105 Individual Academic Coaching Canvas course site, entering grades and providing feedback to all enrolled students. Developing curricular goals for ongoing meetings with high-risk students, including effective engagement with AI tools for learning. Documenting contacts with students on academic probation, developing a timeline of their engagement, successes, and challenges. Creating and curating materials (documents, videos, external resources, etc.) that promote appropriate and effective use of AI tools for learning and success through various topics such as, use of Numerade, prompt engineering, and custom chatbots. Representing Learning Support Services to prospective students and families during visit days and individual visits. Participating in, and contributing to, Learning Support Services team meetings and staff development activities. Communicating effectively and courteously with others, including employees, students, and the public, in a spirit of teamwork, respect and customer service. By actions, words, and lifestyle, be a Christian role model to students, whether through casual contact or in a formal supervisory role. Demonstrating awareness, respect, and appreciation for diversity of culture, background, race, sex, political views, expressions of faith, etc. and works well with a variety of people. Other duties as assigned. We're looking for candidates who have: A Bachelor's degree. Strong interpersonal skills, excellent customer service, and ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing. Dedication to student success. Exceptional organizational and problem-solving skills. Demonstrated initiative, ability to work effectively under pressure or in a fast-paced environment, along with good reasoning and judgment. Proficiency in computer literacy (e.g., Microsoft Office, Google Suite, and Zoom). An active curiosity about AI strategies to support student success. A commitment to working as part of the Learning Support Services team and with students. A personal commitment to Jesus Christ and express their Christian testimony in a church. In addition, employees agree to live in agreement with the Community Lifestyle Statement and affirm the theological commitments expressed in the Statement of Faith. Preference will be given to those who have the following attributes: A Master's degree. Experience using AI tools.
