Job Overview: We are seeking a meticulous and detail-oriented Pre-Construction Estimator to join our team. The ideal candidate will play a key role in the early stages of project development, providing accurate cost estimates and supporting the pre-construction planning process. This position requires a deep understanding of construction methodologies, materials, and labor costs. Responsibilities: Conduct thorough analysis of project plans and specifications to prepare comprehensive cost estimates. Collaborate with architects, engineers, and contractors to gather necessary data for bids and proposals. Evaluate material, labor, and equipment requirements for proposed projects. Research and analyze historical cost data to accurately predict project costs. Prepare and present cost estimates, budgets, and proposals to senior management and clients. Assist in value engineering efforts to optimize project costs without compromising quality. Maintain up-to-date knowledge of construction market trends, materials, and subcontractor capabilities. Participate in pre-bid meetings and site visits as necessary. Provide support during the transition from pre-construction to construction phases. Ensure compliance with company policies, procedures, and industry standards. Qualifications: Bachelor’s degree in Construction Management, Civil Engineering, Quantity Surveying, or related field (or equivalent work experience). Proven experience as an estimator or cost planner in the construction industry. Proficiency in construction estimating software (e.g., Procore, Bluebeam, CostX). Strong analytical and mathematical skills with a keen attention to detail. Excellent communication and negotiation skills. Ability to work effectively both independently and as part of a team. Familiarity with building codes, regulations, and permitting processes. Experience with design-build projects is a plus.
