Title : Lead Low Voltage Technician Location : Jacksonville, FLThe Lead Low Voltage Technician leads technician teams to install projects completely and successfully. Coranet Corp. is seeking a Low Voltage Lead to join their Field Service teams. The Technician will work under our Project Managers and supervise Level 1/2 Technicians on Coranet's IT infrastructure technician teams to entirely and successfully install low-voltage projects, including structured cabling, access control, physical security, wireless, AV projects, and programming Security, AV, and WiFi systems throughout the Jacksonville, FL region. A ttend project meetings with clients, general contractors, and trades. Assist the Project Manager to manage multiple projects and project teams simultaneously. Identify resources/technicians and tools required to complete the project. Coordinate delivery of materials and tools onsite and in warehouse. Plan the daily project work schedule, provide project updates to account managers and track time for all technicians through the completion of a job. Track project spend budgets against estimated costs and alert the PM to any discrepancies. Maintain a close liaison with the client to ensure all project-driven requirements are met and understood. Track all job change orders. Ensure all pictures and other deliverables are sent after the job is complete and organize all on our internal drive. Identify, track and communicate issues to appropriate management levels to help ensure a timely problem resolution. Responsibilities: Installation and Testing : Install, terminate, label, and test copper (CAT5e/CAT6) and fiber (single mode/multi mode) cables. Dress-in, terminate, label, and test copper patch panels. Perform patching according to customer-provided switch matrices. Use Fluke Networks or equivalent copper/fiber cable testers/analyzers. Coordination and Inventory : Work with General Contractors and other project trades such as electrical, furniture, carpet, etc. Receive and inventory drop-shipped project materials. Assemble LAN racks, grounding, cable runways, cable trays, etc. Circuit Extension : Extend carrier POTS, T1, and cable TV circuits. Supervision and Guidance : Provide supervision and guidance to Level 1/2 Technicians. Train and develop Technicians. Troubleshooting : Troubleshoot telecommunication connectivity systems. Programming : Program and configure Security, AV, and WiFi systems. Qualifications: Must have demonstrated experience: with copper and fiber [single mode/multi mode] cable: rough-in, labeling, terminations, and testing. with copper patch panel: dress-in; terminations; labeling; and, testing. with Fluke Networks [or equivalent] copper/fiber cable tester/analyzer. in working with General Contractors and other project trades, e.g., electrical, furniture, carpet, etc. with the receipt and inventory of drop-shipped project materials. with LAN rack: assembly; grounding; cable runways; cable tray; etc. in programming and configuring Security, AV, and WiFi Systems managing technician teams and working as a lead Required: Valid driver's license Access to a motor vehicle Finger and wrist dexterity, hand/eye coordination. Ability to work from heights using proper fall protection. Proficiency with small hand tools and power tools. Ability to climb stairs, ladders, and/or scaffolds. Physical ability to walk, stand, bend, lift up to 50 lbs., and drive a vehicle. Preferred Optional Qualifications: Available for off-hour assignments - weekends and nights. Certifications, e.g., CommScope, Corning, etc. OSHA 30 Certification. Capable of operating with minimal supervision. Willing to travel, work on remote teams while onsite performing project-driven initiatives Strong administrative skills and the ability to turn around deliverables in a timely fashion Strong verbal and written skills Working Conditions: Job is usually performed in indoor/outdoor environments under multiple environmental conditions. Ability to accept periodic assignments that involve travel away from the immediate district office area based on client needs, business needs, and project scope. Exposure to noisy or dusty conditions; chemicals & solvents; mechanical, electrical, and/or other hazards. Must be able to work in the United States.
