This job reports to the Senior Director, Application Architecture and Product Delivery in the Enterprise Systems department of PPFA. Enterprise Systems provides support and custom development for internal facing enterprise platforms. Purpose: The Lead Integration Engineer plays a pivotal role in designing and implementing robust, scalable, and efficient integration solutions for PPFA. Working closely with cross-functional teams, this role is responsible for understanding business requirements, evaluating existing systems, and creating detailed design documents that architect seamless integrations between our technology systems to enhance overall functionality and performance, while collaborating with Enterprise Architecture on designs. The Integrations Engineer Lead ensures that our business processes are more efficient, that manual work is taken out of the pipeline, and that there is high trust in the data flows and communications between people and systems. Delivery * Understand core stakeholder business workflows and translate these into effective integration designs to improve data flow and reduce manual work* Assess existing systems, applications, and infrastructure to identify integration opportunities and challenges.* Design and architect integration solutions that meet Enterprise Architecture requirements and standards and business needs while ensuring scalability, reliability / redundancy, and security.* A primary function of the role is to write code to implement scalable and optimized integrations you have designed. Ensure the code follows our secure software development life cycle and best practices.* Collaborate with Tech Strategy and Enterprise Architecture to develop integration strategies, standards, and best practices to guide implementation efforts.* Work closely with QA to develop SIT strategies and test plans for all integration projects.* Work closely with internal and external / third-party development teams to implement integration solutions, providing guidance and oversight throughout the development lifecycle, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.* Conduct performance testing, troubleshooting, and optimization of integration solutions to ensure optimal system performance.* Stay updated on emerging technologies, industry trends, and best practices in integration architecture and design. Engagement * Work closely with the Tech Strategy, Governance and Enterprise Architecture team to ensure alignment on proposed solutions and technical requirements. * Collaborate with business stakeholders to successfully deliver integration projects from inception to deployment, ensuring alignment with business objectives and technical requirements.* Meet project deadlines and milestones while adhering to established quality standards and best practices.* Monitor project progress and identify risks or issues that may impact delivery timelines or outcomes and work collaboratively to resolve issues, mitigate risks, and drive continuous improvement.* Provide regular updates and reports on project status, including progress, achievements, and challenges, to stakeholders and leadership.* Ensure that delivered solutions meet or exceed expectations in terms of functionality, performance, and reliability.* Proactively identify opportunities for process optimization, automation, and innovation within the integration delivery process and throughout the organization. Knowledge, Skills and Abilities (KSAs)* High School diploma or equivalent* Five years of strong experience in system integration architecture, design, and implementation.* Proficiency in designing and implementing integration solutions using technologies such as APIs, RESTful services, messaging queues, ETL tools, and middleware platforms.* Solid understanding of enterprise integration patterns and best practices.* Experience with cloud-based integration platforms such as MuleSoft, Boomi, or Azure Integration Services.* Proficient in programming languages such as Python, JavaScript or Java.* Familiarity with database systems, data modeling, and SQL.* Excellent analytical and problem-solving skills with the ability to troubleshoot complex integration issues.* Strong communication and collaboration skills, with the ability to work effectively across cross-functional teams.* Ability to translate business requirements into technical solutions and architectural designs.* Experience with Agile methodologies and DevOps practices is a plus.* Relevant certifications such as Certified Integration Architect (CIA) or equivalent are desirable. Travel: This position is a NY/DC office-based or Telecommuter role. Up to 10% domestic travel on occasion.
