Job description As a Juvenile Justice Assistant, will be responsible for providing supervision of juveniles on probation consistent with the requirements of the Pennsylvania Juvenile Act, Rules of Juvenile Court Procedure, principles of Balanced and Restorative Justice, and juvenile justice evidence-based practices. The mission is to: provide supervision of clients, provide balanced attention to the protection of the community, the imposition of accountability for offenses committed, and the development of competencies. This will enable juveniles to become responsible and productive members of the community. A juvenile justice assistant will utilize evidence-based practices to employ assessments, interventions, and treatment approaches that have been demonstrated by research to work most effectively to reduce recidivism. In order to adequately perform these duties and responsibilities, a juvenile justice assistant needs to possess, develop and continually refine the following knowledge, skills, and abilities.Responsibility may include assisting with day-to-day operation of the office including but not limited to: program preparation and office duties, assignment in the YES, Chore, Community Service Program or other programs operated in the same facility as Accountability Enhancement. Requirements: · High School Degree or GED required· Associate's degree in Criminal Justice, Social Work, or other related fields, preferred· Police training or experience, preferredPay: $14.00 - $15.00 per hour
