This position primarily focuses on transactional work, requiring close collaboration with the firm’s securities and finance lawyers, as well as investment bankers, financial advisors, and government officials across the country. The role provides direct client interaction, exposure to complex transactions that positively impact communities, and opportunities to develop expertise in specialized tax areas. The ideal candidate will have foundational experience in transactional tax matters and be eager to grow within a dynamic legal environment.Key Responsibilities:Collaborate with securities and finance lawyers on various transactional matters.Assist in providing tax advice related to public finance and tax-exempt organizations.Conduct legal research and analysis on federal, state, and local tax issues.Prepare and review tax-related documents for accuracy and compliance with laws.Interact directly with clients, providing guidance on transactional tax matters.Work with investment bankers, financial advisors, and government officials on tax-related issues.Participate in client meetings and conference calls, addressing tax concerns.Requirements:Experience: 2-4 years of experience in transactional tax or related tax areas.Bar Admission: Must be admitted to practice in the state of North Carolina or willing to become admitted.Education: Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school.Transactional Tax Experience: Experience in tax matters related to public finance or tax-exempt organizations is beneficial.Skills:Strong understanding of federal, state, and local tax laws.Excellent research, writing, and analytical skills.Ability to work collaboratively in a team-oriented environment.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact directly with clients and other professionals.Attention to detail and commitment to delivering high-quality work.Ability to manage multiple tasks and meet deadlines in a fast-paced environment.
