JOB SCOPE & PURPOSE The role of the Junior Accountant list is responsible for facilitating and performing a variety of complex accounting functions. MAIN RESPONSIBILITIES General accounting Accounts receivable Accounts payable Payroll Taxes Reporting Board meetings Bank reconciliations on a periodic basis Maintaining all administrative activities of the accounting department Interacting with banks and vendors to resolve reconciliation problems, and performing all Other responsibilities as directed Thrives in a fast-paced environment. ESSENTIAL FUNCTIONS Maintains logs and ledgers to facilitate period close Assists the management team in preparing financial reports, records, and bills for the Corporate office Facilitates accounts receivable functions such as preparing daily cash and sales envelopes, creating and distributing over/short notices, and auditing daily vouchers and voids Facilitates accounts payable functions such as checking and processing invoices, and researching discrepancies and unpaid invoices Acts as the local expert in all areas of cash handling Conducts department cash audits and tracks cashier audits and blind drop audits Evaluate reports and audits Utilizes exception based reporting tools to identify control deficiencies and enacts procedures to minimize losses EXPERIENCE & EDUCATION Bachelor's degree in Accounting or Finance required Minimum of 3 years of experience in accounting or finance roles Strong knowledge of financial accounting principles and practices Proficiency in using accounting software such as Client & People or similar systems Experience with balance sheet reconciliation, bank reconciliation, and general ledger reconciliation Solid understanding of GAAP (Generally Accepted Accounting Principles) Excellent analytical skills and attention to detail Strong communication and interpersonal skills to effectively collaborate with stakeholders at all levels KNOWLEDGE & ABILITY Established track record as a self-starter driven by a strong desire for success. Proficiency in Microsoft Office and Excel required. Quick-thinking and decisive action. Possesses strong accounting skills. Collaborative team player with a proven ability to thrive in a team-oriented environment. Exceptional written and verbal communication skills. Outstanding problem-solving abilities. Superior organizational and time management skills, with meticulous attention to detail and the ability to prioritize effectively. Capable of crafting and developing presentations aligned with the client's brand.
