Position Overview: We are seeking a skilled and compassionate IV Registered Nurse to join our dynamic team in Austin, Texas. The ideal candidate will be responsible for administering intravenous medications and fluids to patients in various healthcare settings. The IV Registered Nurse will collaborate with physicians and other healthcare professionals to ensure optimal patient outcomes and provide excellent patient care. Key Responsibilities: Perform venipuncture and establish peripheral intravenous access. Monitor patients' intravenous therapy, including assessing for complications and adjusting infusion rates as necessary. Administer medications and fluids via intravenous route according to physician orders and established protocols. Assess patients' fluid status and electrolyte balance, and intervene as appropriate. Educate patients and their families about intravenous therapy, including proper care and maintenance of intravenous access devices. Document all assessments, interventions, and patient responses accurately and in a timely manner. Collaborate with interdisciplinary healthcare team members to develop and implement individualized care plans. Maintain competency in IV therapy practices and stay abreast of current evidence-based guidelines and best practices. Adhere to infection control protocols and maintain a safe and clean work environment. Able to be on call for weekends (rotation schedule) and occasionally work special events in Austin, Tx. Qualifications: Valid RN license in Texas. Bachelor of Science in Nursing (BSN) preferred. Certification in Intravenous Therapy (CRNI) preferred. Minimum of 4 years of experience as a registered nurse, with a focus on intravenous therapy. Experience working in the Emergency Room (ER) or Intensive Care Unit (ICU) preferred. Strong venipuncture skills and proficiency in establishing and maintaining intravenous access. Excellent assessment, critical thinking, and problem-solving skills. Ability to work effectively in a fast-paced environment and prioritize tasks efficiently. Exceptional interpersonal and communication skills.
