Item Writer/Reviewer - Logical reasoning/Data literacy Position Description: The purpose of this role is to participate in a short-term pilot program to develop items for a high-stakes reasoning test aimed at an audience with baccalaureate degrees. Specifically, the items are designed to evaluate test-taker ability to determine the sufficiency of data and arguments presented within the stimuli. Following training, job incumbents will both write items and review items written by others against acceptance criteria. Depending upon the outcome of the pilot program, opportunities may exist for a longer term engagement. Qualifications: Minimum of a master’s degree (doctoral preferred) in logic, philosophy, data science or an equivalent field of study Experience writing assessment items, preferably logical reasoning items or equivalent item types Ability to use Microsoft office and other commonly-available software programs Working conditions: Fully remote Independent,self-directed work against time constraints and schedules Mandatory participation in training required Short-term contract (estimated 2 months duration), potential for extension but not guaranteed $40-50 per hour Applicants must be currently authorized to work in the United States and must reside in the U.S., ASC will contract with successful candidates as independent contractors.
