Job Summary The role of the IT Asset Manager is to oversee the daily and long:term strategic management of software and technology:related hardware within the organization. This includes planning, monitoring, and reporting software licenses and/or hardware assets to ensure compliance with vendor contracts. The individual will implement asset management strategies to optimize technology spend across the organization. The IT Asset Manager will also develop and implement procedures for tracking company assets to oversee quality control throughout their lifecycles. Job Responsibilities Strategy and PlanningEstablish (or refresh) policies and procedures for managing both hardware and software asset lifecycles, inclusive of business practices that join financial, contractual, and IT asset inventoryExplore opportunities for maximizing or exploiting unused or partially used IT assets to achieve full efficiency and ROI from company resourcesEvaluate asset management processes on a recurring basis to ensure best practices are being leveraged, including participating in benchmarking effortsIdentify opportunities for optimization of assets based on numerous factors including utilizationImplement best practices in line with ITIL (Information Technology Infrastructure Library) and NIST (National Institute of Standards):o Research best practice frameworkso Collaborate with IT stakeholders to identify which practices should be implementedo Prioritize and develop short:term and long:term plans for implementingo Create KPIs (Key Performance Indicators) for the plans and monitor/track performanceo Develop process improvement/mitigation plans to resolve issues, track progress of plans Acquisition and DeploymentMinimize IT asset procurement through unapproved channelsConduct and report software asset reconciliation and audit activities on a timely basis, including financial, licensing, warranty, and maintenance/support contract informationExplore opportunities for maximizing or exploiting unused or partially used IT assets to achieve full efficiency and ROI from company resourcesOperational ManagementAccountable for facilitating a validation process of the IT Asset repositories, a
