Industrial Electrical / Mechanical Technician JOB SUMMARY: Penn Wood Products, Inc. has an immediate opening for an Electrical / Mechanical Maintenance Technician with a focus in electrical work. The individual is responsible for maintaining production and quality by ensuring operation of machinery, consisting of both electrical and mechanical equipment. Responsible for industrial machinery upkeep, working alone or with a crew. The individual must be well-rounded and able to perform efficient work on a variety of equipment, executing electrical, mechanical, hydraulic, and pneumatic maintenance. PRIMARY RESPONSIBILITIES Able to utilize all wiring methods associated with construction electrical work Ensure electrical installations conform to NEC and trade standards Must be able to accurately interpret electrical blueprints Measure, cut, bend, thread, assemble, and install electrical conduit Install control and distribution apparatus such as switches, relays, and circuit breakers Connect power cables to equipment such as electrical range or motor, and install grounding leads Ability to manage projects The ability to work in a constant state of alertness and in a safe manner Interact with employees, vendors, contractors, and utility workers in a professional manner Carry out assigned tasks with minimal direct supervision Communicate with mechanical designers, machine builders, electricians, plumbers, and controls engineers throughout design process Provide field support of automation equipment Design, development, and troubleshooting machine control software of automation systems Assist in circuit design on machine control for full line automation systems Review project proposals or plans to determine work timeframes, and procedures for accomplishing projects SKILLS, REQUIREMENTS, ABILITIES Associates Degree or Journeyman license 5 years of experience required Valid driver's license Ability to weld is a plus PHYSICAL REQUIREMENTS Must be able to navigate construction sites consisting of uneven terrain, climbing stairs, ladders, and working at heights Able to stand, walk, bend, kneel, stoop, crouch, crawl, climb, and balance The ability to use hands to finger, handle, or feel, reach with hands and arms Must be able to lift objects up to 60 pounds Must be able to push and pull up to 100 pounds OTHER DUTIES Please note this job description is not designed to cover or contain a comprehensive listing of activities, duties, or responsibilities that are required of the employee for this job.
