INDUSTRIAL CHEMIST Dynomax, Inc is a family owned company in Wheeling, IL that designs, manufactures, and develops high-precision machined components, sub-assemblies, and electrical components for the aerospace and defense industries. We are seeking an experienced Industrial Chemist to support our Metal Finishing/Plating Department. Job Responsibilities: The Industrial Chemist will be responsible for all physical and chemical aspects of our NADCAP certified inorganic quality control lab. Manage Direct reports Meet all relevant specification requirements, assuring that all chemical solution and physical periodic control testing is performed Responsible for Wastewater treatment and compliance to MWRD. Class K license is required. Responsible for hazardous water storage and disposal. Adheres to all OSHA safety and EPA guidelines and company policies Test and monitor chemical tanks to ensure compliance with standards & specifications Prepare chemical solutions for products or processes, following standardized formulas Compile and interpret results of test analysis and maintain laboratory analysis database software. Create technical reports to document results. Set up and conduct chemical experiments, tests & analysis using techniques such as titrations, ph, UV-VIS, dilutions, reagent preparation, coating weight, and others as determined by work instructions Perform statistical trend analysis on testing results of the chemical process solutions Write, edit, approve, and release work instructions, forms, and procedures for the lab Support the calibration of the lab equipment and the maintenance calibration records Participate in internal and external AS9100 and NADCAP audits Job Requirements: 2+ years of experience in a chemical (inorganic) laboratory BS Degree in Inorganic Chemistry or related field Working knowledge of chemical processing methods and techniques Ability to review complex aerospace documentation to assist in the derivation of process requirements Our ideal Industrial Chemist will also have experience in the following: Functional understanding of Aerospace industry specific requirements Quality system maintenance within AS9100 and NADCAP Experience with chemical processing and or plating of metals (Aluminum, Steels, Copper based alloys) Benefits include: Medical, dental and vision insurance Company-paid life insurance 401(k) Plan with a generous Company match Paid holidays, vacation and PTO Variety of optional benefits (FSA, AFLAC, etc.) ...And more!
