Overview Human Resources Manager The Human Resources Manager develops, executes and manages human resource initiatives and responsibilities within assigned client groups. This person leads employee relations, performance management, talent development, total rewards, legal compliance, and diversity, equity, and inclusion. The Human Resources Manager partners closely with Senior Leadership to set strategies and priorities that ensure a positive and productive work environment. This is a full-time, salaried, exempt position. Position Reports To Human Resources Director Principal Duties and Responsibilities Employee Relations Oversees and manages investigations of escalated employee and management issues, complaints, and situations Prevents and resolves employee relations issues, working with the HR director and the client group leaders, to conduct internal investigations, resolve escalated conflicts including harassment, discrimination, and general conduct as necessary Examines the source of problems and conflict between employees and provides recommendations and coaching to leadership Performance Management Develops the program and process to identify, document and communicate performance successes and issues consistently Leads the process for reviews, performance appraisals and individual development plans, communicates objectives, and holds leaders accountable for effective and timely delivery Partners with leaders to develop effective employee development programs and provides coaching, development and guidance to leaders and employees Monitors attendance performance, turnover, trends, and policy violations and makes recommendations for improvement Actively engages with all employees in the client groups through observation, conversation, and coaching Proactively recommends and coordinates professional skills and leadership training solutions based on identified needs Company Culture Drives the company's focus as an employee-first employer Works to nurture and develop a positive work environment which ensures employee engagement Supports a culture of diversity and inclusion by leading all DE&I initiatives and creates new initiatives to build a stronger sense of belonging at The Container Store. Partners with Senior leaders to propose initiatives and programs to strengthen employee engagement and company culture, including reward and recognition programs Develops and drives communication with leaders and employees in the form of presentations, written communication, and individual conversations Legal compliance and administration Ensures legal compliance with various governmental laws and regulations regarding employment Manages the revisions and creation of relevant policies for the client groups in partnership with the HR Director and support center leadership Provides policy and procedure explanation and employee benefits information to employees and management as necessary Oversees employee leaves of absence and open enrollment process, in partnership with support center team Serves as the client groups point of contact for Senior Leaders and Operations management Recruiting and Hiring Reviews resumes and interviews candidates, as needed, for final hiring decisions in partnership with Corporate talent acquisition Manages contract labor as necessary by building partnerships between The Container Store and temporary staffing agencies, negotiating rates, terms and contracts and ensuring they meet the ongoing staffing demand Responsible for maintaining discretion related to all confidential/sensitive company and customer information The Benefits of Working Here Our benefits exemplify our commitment to ensuring employees and their families are well taken care of, safe and secure.
