Human Resources Generalist Reports to: Human Resources ManagerFLSA Status: Non-Exempt Contract: 12 monthsSalary: Commensurate with Experience - $70,000-$72,000Benefits: Medical, Dental, Vision, Life Insurance, Retirement Plan SUMMARY Under the supervision of the Human Resources Manager, the Human Resources Generalist will plan, organize, control, and direct the daily operations of assigned functions within human resources services; review, develop, implement, and communicate the policies and procedures of the organization within the area of expertise; conduct research, analyze data, and prepare statistical reports to support an implement best practices; ensure that required technology products and information management systems are available and functioning correctly for all internal and external department contacts. ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES Plan, organize and direct the daily operations of assigned functions within human resources services. Serve as the initial point of contact for assigned HR functions. Communicate with school sites and proactively address their needs. Assist with the administration of transfers. Verify standard credentials and qualifications. Maintain and verify files and track the expiration of certifications for all teaching staff. Take part in training for credentialing, PERS/STRS, wage and hour, recruiting, and other services. Review, develop, implement, and communicate ICEF-wide policies and procedures within the area of expertise. Conduct research, analyze data, and prepare statistical reports to support and implement best practices. Ensure required technology products and information management systems are available and functioning correctly for all internal and external departmental contacts. Support established mission for Human Resources. Communicate overall strategy for Human Resources and direct staff to establish appropriate strategies. Prioritize efforts across human resources to ensure effective and efficient workflow. Establish goals and standard recruiting, screening, selecting, pre-employment processing, and staffing processes. Assist with establishing appropriate standards for wage and salary administration and position classification. On-board new employees. Audit personnel records as needed Monitor legal compliance as needed (i.e. Unlawful Harassment, Mandated Reporting, State/Federal Notices, etc.). Assist with procedural and/or legal research as needed. Assist with CALPADS, CALSAAS and LAUSD Audits Work with a third-party payroll administrator to process payroll, ensuring accuracy. Help prepare employee record changes and payroll transactions. Answers various employee and management questions regarding payroll information. Provides customer service support to school staff about ICEF’s Health and Welfare plans, Retirement Plans, and Worker’s Compensation benefits. Partners with insurance broker in the delivery of outstanding customer support Assists employees with benefits enrollment; providing an explanation of benefit eligibility, waiting periods and key program features Perform related duties as assigned. EDUCATION and/or EXPERIENCE Bachelor’s Degree (preferred) Or combination of education, training, and/ or experience equivalent to a Bachelor’s degree PHR or SPHR Certification (preferred) Three years in a personnel and/ or labor relations function (preferred) Experience or strong interest in K-12 public education (preferred) QUALIFICATIONS To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to satisfactorily perform each essential duty. Must show proof and maintain a clear TB, DOJ and FBI Clearance. Must provide documentation of eligibility to work in US.
