The Principal, Communications Strategist leads the development and implementation of People Solutions communications strategies and facilitates the delivery of People Solutions communications for employees, the People Solutions department, executive leadership, and other stakeholder groups to ensure clear, consistent, and accurate messaging regarding the organization’s mission, goals, policies, initiatives, and programs. As an experienced communication strategist, the incumbent is responsible for supporting enterprise-wide engagement and change management campaigns, senior leader speaking engagements, events/conferences/ceremonies, and other similar engagements, in strong partnership with the People Solutions Leadership Team and Corporate Communications. This role requires working collaboratively with executives and colleagues alike to deliver high-quality work in a deadline-driven environment. The ideal candidate will have a strong background in Human Resources Management, Change Management and strategic Communications. Essential Job Functions: * Develops content strategy based on inputs from business, feedback, research, and other data analysis and ensures communication plans align with the organization's goals and objectives. * Collaborates with People Solutions and Corporate Communications to develop effective lifecycle communications that facilitate an open dialogue among employees and deliver consistent HR messages, policies, timelines, and initiatives to employees. * Serves as the communications lead and liaison for the People Solutions leadership team, providing collaborative guidance and advice on integrated communication strategies to build employee engagement, productivity, retention, and policy compliance. * Takes the lead in the research, development, drafting, and finalization of various People Solutions communications pieces such as employee newsletters, memos, announcements, and presentations. * Develops, implements, and measures multi-channel communication plans for major strategic initiatives and important employee engagement initiatives. * Proactively evaluates and recommends enhancements to existing material as well as year-over-year initiatives. * Builds relationships and actively collaborates with business leads and colleagues to identify opportunities that support overall communication, messaging, and employee engagement. * Maintains knowledge of trends, developments, and best practices in employee retention, morale, recognition, productivity, and incentives. * Stays abreast of communication trends and technology to identify and surface new communication opportunities and helps ensure the delivery of innovative campaigns. * Promotes and reports on corporate milestones and activities such as company goals and projects; community service activities; and new hires, promotions, and retirements. * Hosts People Solutions virtual informational meetings and promotes and attends special events and functions as needed. * Coordinates the identification and selection of external communications vendors/consultants when needed and arranges for photography and/or press coverage for special events. * Performs other related duties as assigned. Education/Experience Requirements: * Bachelor’s degree in Human Resources, Communications, English, Business, or related field required; Master’s degree preferred. * Minimum of eight years of relevant experience or equivalent combination of education and relevant experience. * Prior experience in a lead communications role required with experience working on enterprise-wide Human Resources initiatives. * A creative mindset with the ability to develop, implement, and measure innovative and engaging communication strategies and materials. * Strong interpersonal skills and the ability to build relationships and collaborate with individuals at all levels of the organization. * Demonstrated superior speaking, writing, editing, interpersonal communications skills and high attention to detail. * Demonstrated ability to manage multiple projects and tasks simultaneously and meet deadlines for a wide variety of assignments. * Ability to work collaboratively with others, including running point on project and task teams with colleagues. * Demonstrated ability to exercise careful judgment and discretion with respect to strategic and confidential material. * Ability to convey complex information in clear, engaging ways. * Proficiency in Microsoft Windows/MS Office Suite applications. * SHRM-CP or SHRM-SCP a plus. In addition to location, actual compensation is based on various factors, including but not limited to, the candidate’s skill set, level of experience, education, and internal peer compensation comparisons.
