A client within the Public Sector based in Northamptonshire is currently recruiting for a Quantity Surveyor to join their Highways team as soon as possible. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority. The client is offering a full time, temporary position on an ongoing basis with the ideal candidate having experience of working within a local authority. The Role Key purpose of the role is to manage the financial aspects of highway construction and maintenance projects as well as supporting our highways engineering team. Key responsibilities will include but not be limited to: Support the Highways Service Manager with the drafting, checking and approval of Task Orders. Support the Highways Service Manager in backssing the Contractor’s monthly applications for payment and the preparation of Payment Certificates. Liaise with the Highways Service Manager, Contract Engineers and Contract Inspector to confirm all staff, materials, plant and equipment agrees with the Contractor’s backssment of Defined Costs. Work with the Contractor to develop accurate monthly forecasting of future expenditure on highway maintenance works. Support the Highways Service Manager in backssing each annual final account. The Candidate To be considered for this role you will require a BSc/BEng Hons or similar in Quantity Surveying and be able to demonstrate suitable relevant experience in a similar role in Highways. The below skills would be beneficial for the role: Detailed knowledge of valuation and measurement of highway works, including usage of applicable standard methods of measurement.
