Description Location: This position will take part in Elevance Health's hybrid workforce strategy which includes virtual work and 1-2 days in office per week . The position is expected to work the core hours of the time zone the candidate lives in but must be able to adapt their schedule to Pacific Standard Time if and as needed for team meetings. ** The ideal candidate will live within 50 miles and a 1-hour commute to one of our Elevance Health major office (PulsePoint) locations. Elevance Health supports a hybrid workplace model with PulsePoint sites used for collaboration, community, and connection. The Group Underwriter Senior is responsible for determining acceptability of insurance risks and appropriate premium rates for large, complex renewal and large employer groups in accordance with Corporate Underwriting Guidelines and Authority Limits. How You Will Make an Impact Primary duties may include, but are not limited to: * Calculates renewal rates for complex group cases based on thorough analysis of the group's experience, industry, location, size, and demographic nature. * Coordinates with other departments to ensure the accuracy and consistency of account reporting. * Proposes rates and terms for group prospects, utilizing a combination of other carrier experience, demographic data and manual rates. * Prepares rate projections, or benefit change increments or decrement. * Communicates and collaborates with sales, finance, actuary, and operations to assess the rating and administrative impact or benefit and plan changes. Minimum Requirements: Requires a BA/BS in a related field; Minimum 4 years of related experience; or any combination of education and experience, which would provide an equivalent background. Preferred Skills, Capabilities, and Experiences: * CPCU, CLU, LOMA, HIAA or other insurance related courses preferred. For candidates working in person or remotely in the below location(s), the salary* range for this specific position is $83,076- $130,032.
