In our programs, we create a holistic approach to recovery and rehabilitation while ensuring that our building is a safe haven for men, women and children who have experienced homelessness. The Grants Writer serves as the primary writer and overseer of our Grant Program. Responsible for researching funding partners, cultivating foundation and donor relationships, developing quality narratives about our key programs, engaging in compliance reporting and supporting internal & external project initiatives with an emphasis on grant writing and outcome measurement. To Serve as a Member of the Development Team Attend monthly SDRM development team meetings, all staff meetings & other critical meetings Participates in tours, public presentations & periodic SDRM events Protect the Mission, Pursue the Vision & Reflect the Values of the SDRM Help build the TEAM and grow the capacity & impact of the SDRM Embody the Mission's organizational values: Faith, Integrity, Compassion & Excellence Hybrid role - 3 days remote & 2 days on-site per week To write all Grant applications, proposals and reports Meets regularly with Program Team to collaborate & coordinate Department needs To develop quality narratives for all SDRM programs & the capital campaign Stay current with both national & San Diego homeless statistics and programs Execute all grant writing activities including LOIS, applications, thank you letters, contracts/agreements and reporting Oversees all grant documentation & other administrative functions to ensure execution of the grant process Meet monthly & annual grant revenue goals To cultivate, support and grow Foundation partnerships Research potential funding sources that align with Mission goals, plans & vision Evaluate & prioritize funders according to focus alignment, geography, relationships, funding potential & deadlines.
