The ideal candidate will have expertise in areas including General Municipal Law, Code Enforcement, Water Law, and Sanitation District Law. The firm offers a hybrid work arrangement option with an annual telecommute budget to support remote work. Attorneys are expected to meet a billable hour requirement of 1850 and receive competitive health insurance benefits, 401(k) with a partial match, and eligibility for annual discretionary and billable hour bonuses. Duties:Provide legal counsel and representation to municipalities, local government agencies, and special districtsDraft and review municipal ordinances, resolutions, contracts, and other legal documentsAdvise on land use and zoning regulations, including code enforcement mattersHandle litigation matters related to municipal law, including administrative hearings and appealsNegotiate agreements and settlements on behalf of municipal clientsConduct legal research and analysis on complex municipal law issuesProvide guidance on water law and sanitation district matters Requirements:Juris Doctor (J.D.) degree from an accredited law schoolActive license to practice law in California3+ years of experience in General Municipal Law, Code Enforcement, Water Law, and Sanitation District LawStrong understanding of California municipal laws, regulations, and proceduresExcellent communication and negotiation skillsAbility to work independently and collaboratively within a team environmentExperience managing a diverse caseload and meeting billable hour targets Certifications:Active license to practice law in California Skills:Legal research and analysisContract drafting and reviewLitigation and dispute resolutionLand use and zoning expertiseNegotiation and advocacy skillsCase management and time managementClient communication and counseling Founded over nine decades ago, this family-owned firm specializes in a wide range of practices including constitutional law, intellectual property, family law, real estate, public law, employment litigation, construction, insurance, data privacy, and others.
