About the Location Onsite Position: This position is located in our Bethel, PA distribution center and is considered to be Fully Onsite, work is to be done onsite at a PetSmart location (Phoenix Home Office, PetSmart stores, Merchandise Development Center, Distribution Centers or another PetSmart site). Bethel, Pennsylvania is between Harrisburg and Allentown on Interstate 78. Hershey is only 20 minutes away. We have a relocation package available for those not already living within 50 miles of Bethel, PA. About the Job The General Manager (GM) is responsible for providing strategic direction, implementing initiatives and providing solutions to improve performance within their building. The GM creates a culture of associate engagement and strategically works to drive that culture through the leaders and initiatives. This role is located in PetSmart's Distribution Center in Bethel, PA. Bethel, Pennsylvania is between Harrisburg and Allentown on Interstate 78. Relocation assistance is provided if current location of residence is more than 50 miles from Bethel, Pennsylvania.Roles and Responsibilities include: OPERATIONS EXPECTATIONS: Provide strategic direction for the Distribution Center. Direct productivity goals, inventory control, and housekeeping. Develops plans for cost reduction, process improvement, scheduling enhancement, and labor hours reduction. Commitment to business goals. Emphasize the need to deliver quality products and service. TRAINING AND DEVELOPMENT Provide ongoing training, coaching, guidance, and instruction for DistributionCenter Leaders. Communicate required policy revisions, company updates, and process revisions in a professional manner. Adhere to all company policies and procedures. SAFETY: Upholds, supports, and maintains company safety standards at all times. Counsel managers, supervisors and associates violating safety policies. Ensure warehouse is clean, neat, and free of safety hazards. Handles potential safety violations/hazards to ensure compliance with OSHA standards. MISCELLANEOUS: Special projects as assigned by Regional Director and Home Office. Creates performance appraisals on direct reports and evaluates the performance appraisals conducted on associates and management in the dc for consistency QUALIFICATIONS Include, but are not limited to the following: Possesses 7+ years relevant work experience, which includes at least 5 years of experience managing teams or projects. Knowledge of distribution in shipping, receiving, order filling, and inventory control. Advanced EXE experience desired. Requires proven planning, organizing and interpersonal communication skills.
