About the Position The General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer is a strategic and results-oriented leader who will play a pivotal role in ensuring legal excellence, while ensuring our company operates with the highest ethical and legal standards. The General Counsel & Chief Compliance Officer will provide comprehensive legal counsel and oversee the development and implementation of a robust enterprise compliance program. This leadership position directly influences the success of our organization with tactical responsibilities and an expectation of strategic collaboration with the company’s leadership and outside investors. Responsibilities Legal Expertise Develop and lead corporate legal strategy to promote and protect the company’s business initiatives. Advise company leadership on a broad range of legal matters concerning corporate governance, business transactions, and healthcare regulations. Serve as subject matter expert on a large variety of pharmacy, specialty pharmacy, 340B, and ambulatory infusion regulations and legal mandates, including strategy to assure the success of the company’s advanced partnership model(s). Develop standardized, best-in-class contracting processes to minimize legal risks and maximize business opportunities. Actively engage and collaborate with outside counsel as needed, both for internal operations and client facing engagements. Compliance Leadership Serve as the Chair of the company’s Compliance Committee. Develop, implement, and manage a comprehensive compliance program that mitigates legal and reputational risks. Oversees compliance with all applicable federal and state laws and regulations. Ensure compliance with regulations such as HIPAA and those governing marketing, data, privacy, and information security. Lead company enterprise risk assessment processes and related corrective actions as needed. Foster a culture of compliance within the organization through training and education initiatives. Strategic Collaboration Partner with leaders and key stakeholders across the organization to integrate legal and compliance considerations into strategic decision-making. Collaborate with HR, Operations, Marketing, and IT departments to ensure adherence to applicable laws and regulations. Advise company executives on legal and compliance matters. Hire and develop employees as appropriate. Qualifications and Skills Juris Doctorate degree (JD) Licensed attorney in good standing in a U.S. jurisdiction 15+ years of experience in healthcare laws and regulations, including substantial pharmacy and specialty pharmacy experience, with a proven track record of success in a leadership role. Strong understanding of legal and compliance practices with prior experience as a Chief Compliance Officer. Proven ability to develop and implement effective legal and compliance programs. Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with an ability to develop strong relationships across all levels of the organization. Strategic thinking and problem-solving skills. Ability to manage multiple priorities and deadlines in a fast-paced environment. High EQ, with a demonstrated ability to collaborate effectively with diverse stakeholders at every level.
