Formulation Scientist II, Global Pharmaceutical & Nutraceutical Applications

Ingredion is hiring a Formulation Scientist II to support the design and commercialization of new products and innovative solutions as well as support and troubleshoot issues with existing products and manufacturing for the Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical segment. The candidate will collaboratively deliver multidisciplinary new application and product development under applied research and development projects in Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical Excipient segments, executing the defined scope with some level of autonomy. This role will also support the development of Pharmaceutical and Nutraceutical laboratory and pilot plant capabilities in the organization including providing required education and training as well as technical support to customers. The ideal candidate will be able to trouble shoot issues with our products and processes with collaborative support of manufacturing and supply.As a Formulation Scientist II your responsibilities will include:Working with Business, Regulatory, Marketing, Technical Service, and other cross-functional teams to support new product development and customer application projects in these segments. In addition, providing applications expertise for these cross-functional teams.Supporting projects by conducting experiments/trials in the laboratory and pilot plant and conducting data analysis to develop conclusions and recommendations. Executing and/or developing methods for finished applications to assess the performance of Excipients and other Pharma/ Nutraceutical technologies.Developing and delivering technical presentations to key stakeholders and external customers.Completing technical project reports and presentations and providing project status updates, plans, milestones and outcomes to team and project stakeholders as required.Conducting prior art and literature searches related to projects and keeping appropriate records to support IP development and patent applications.Developing relationships with project teams to gain alignment on scope and ensure projects are completed in agreed upon timelines.If you hold the following qualifications, we are interested in you:MS/BS degree in Industrial Pharmacy, Chemistry, or other related disciplines with 3-7+ years relevant work experience in Pharmaceutical and/or Nutraceutical fieldDemonstrated product and application development or practical work experience and knowledge in these work streams: Tableting, Soft-gel/ Hard-gel Capsule Applications, syrup formulationCreative problem solver with a drive for invention and innovation.Experience in pilot plant and manufacturing support is desirable.Experience with experimental design, statistical data analysis, and interpretation of results.Excellent verbal and written technical communication skills, including writing technical reports and delivering high impact presentations internally.Demonstrated ability to effectively communicate and interact across functions and to influence stakeholders to gain alignment on project objectives and plans.Travel required up to 15% in this position #LI-JG1 We are an equal opportunity employer and value diversity at our company.
