Klamath County Job Announcement Job Title: Financial Accountant Salary: $5,627.70 - $7,335.23 per month Klamath County is on the lookout for a Financial Accountant to join our team and take on a pivotal role in managing the financial operations of the County! This position involves a range of professional accounting and financial analysis tasks, including recording, reconciling, and reporting financial transactions. You'll be instrumental in helping departments make informed business decisions and evaluate financial performance. The Ideal Candidate Our Financial Accountant will be a detail-oriented and analytical professional with a knack for public sector accounting. If you're a proactive problem-solver with strong communication skills and proficiency in accounting software, this is the perfect role for you. You'll thrive in an environment where you can work independently, maintain precise records, and ensure compliance with all relevant regulations and policies. Key Responsibilities Perform general ledger activities, ensuring compliance with state and federal regulations and accounting standards. Process financial transactions, maintain accurate account records, and resolve discrepancies. Identify and mitigate risks in the financial reporting system. Prepare year-end audit work papers and ensure the integrity of financial records. Assist with the implementation and oversight of financial software systems. Manage and reconcile fixed assets, including construction in progress ledgers. Compile, analyze, and report financial data to support County programs and projects. Provide exceptional public assistance by explaining rules, policies, and procedures. Qualifications Bachelor's degree in Accounting, Finance, Business, or Public Administration, with at least three years of public sector accounting experience, or an equivalent combination of training and experience.
