Seeking a Finance Director for a religious nonprofit organization. The Finance Director’s focus will be to develop and maintain the highest financial, human resource and legal compliance standards for a 501(c) (3) organization. Reports To: Chief Executive Officer Position Description: Accounting and Finance: Oversees day to day accounting functions Manages cash transfers between investment and bank accounts Will assist the President to position/guide the ministry for the future in the area of finance and compliance Bank reconciliations Oversight and preparation for annual audit, working with the CPA firm as required Oversee financial reporting process Oversee preparation, approval of and filing of state(s) required reports Directs and assigns the work of the bookkeeper Oversee department budgets General and Administrative: Banking Relations Insurances - regular business, workers comp, Directors & Officers, DBL & PFL, bonding and Cyber policy Works with Office Manager with Human Resources Assist with training of support personnel Requirements: Bachelor's degree in Accounting or related field At least five years of experience successfully leading a similar function Experience in the non-profit industry highly preferred Experience working with QuickBooks, Payroll systems and Breeze (Donor database) Experience with Non-Profit status legal requirements Must be a strong team player Able to work in a multicultural environment Must live in the Buffalo, NY area
