Vicmead Hunt Club (VHC) located in Wilmington, Delaware is actively seeking an experienced Facilities Manager that has a strong record of leadership with a positive and focused approach. In addition, this person possesses leadership, employee development, and teambuilding skills. The successful candidate has a proven track record of being organized along with an ability to understand and embrace the Club operation; this is paramount. Relating to colleagues and membership in a professional, respectful, and diplomatic manner is critical. The ideal candidate leads by example, as well as through active coaching of staff to ensure a safe and supportive environment. This leader also physically engages in executing tasks to ensure work is completed. He/she is also expected to prioritize personal and professional development for themselves and their team. Job Summary: The Facilities Manager oversees the maintenance and operational efficiency of Vicmead Hunt Club and Bidermann Golf Course facilities. This role includes managing buildings, grounds, equipment, and coordinating with department managers to ensure seamless operations and exceptional member service. He/she should also have a positive attitude and be willing and able to work a varied schedule (40-50 hours with availability for special events & emergencies). Initial Priorities: Develop a positive rapport with fellow members of the Leadership team and the Facilities Team Members. Gain a thorough comprehension of and evaluate the operation, roles and responsibilities and provide the General Manager with an initial assessment approximately ninety days after commencing the role. Properties & Facilities Oversight: Vicmead Campus Clubhouse Outdoor Tennis & Pickleball Courts Maintenance Building & Water Storage Indoor Racquets Building Paddle Courts & Hut Stables & Riding Arena Tenant operation, Club maintains bldg. Bidermann Campus Farmhouse Cart Barn & Milk Barn Golf Shop, Offices & Locker Room Halfway House Responsible for all systems including but not limited to: Septic Systems Electrical & Lighting Kitchen Equipment Plumbing Pumps & Wells HVAC Mechanical Roofing & Gutter cleanings Building structures – floors, walls, etc. Pool Filtration and sanitation system Interiors – furniture, fixture, wall coverings, paint, carpet, etc. Underground Utilities Landscaping, walking trail, fences & signs Maintenance and repair of appliances, tools, etc. Maintenance & upkeep for Clubhouse vans, trucks, passenger vehicles and utility vehicles ( golf carts & maintenance equipment not included) Irrigation Security System & Cameras HydroCourt & Sprinklers for Har- Tru Tennis Courts Preferred Qualifications: Associate’s degree in electrical or mechanical engineering technology, HVAC technology, or equivalent technical education and/or experience. Minimum 3-5 years of experience in facilities management, with at least two years in a supervisory role. Proficient in Microsoft Office Applications (i.e. Word, Excel, Outlook) Ability to sit, stand, use hands to handle, feel, or reach. Ability to walk, run, twist, stoop, kneel, climb ladders, crouch or crawl. Must regularly lift and or move up to 50 pounds. Work flexible hours based on Club needs, including evenings, weekends, and rotational holiday schedule. Annual seasonality requires the ability and willingness to work in a variety of environmental settings which include extreme cold or heat. Currently holds or is willing to obtain the following certifications (Club to support related expenses) immediately: Pool operator, Approved Sampler & Testing (AST), First Aid/CPR/AED & bloodborne pathogens. Working knowledge of OSHA standards and practices. EPA/OSHA Certification preferred, but not required. Possession of a valid Driver's License (not suspended, revoked or canceled, or disqualified from driving). Salary and Benefits: Vicmead Hunt Club offers a generous compensation package including salary, bonus, and a benefits package that is commensurate with qualifications and experience. $80,000 - $100,000/Year Health/Dental/Vision and Section 125 Cafeteria Plan (after 60 days of employment). Employee/employer contribution subject to annual adjustment based on renewal. As of 2024, approximately 70% of employee plan premium and 50% of dependents premium is paid by Club. STD/LTD/AD&D/Life Insurance after 6 months of employment 401(k) 25% of the first 6 % after one year. Full time employees are eligible for up to 10 paid holidays. Club is closed on Thanksgiving, Christmas and New Year’s Day. Professional development opportunities, following approval. Uniform allowance Company-provided vehicle and cell phone.
