Come Join our Extrusion team here at Tekni-Plex! The Extrusion Operator IV will be responsible for proficiently operating equipment related to production of extruded polystyrene foam sheet. Essential Job Duties: * Sets up, operates and maintains extruders, grinders, pelletizers, and all support equipment. * Diagnoses all operational and quality problems and makes necessary machine adjustments to correct. * Knows all technical and departmental terminology. * Trains other departmental personnel. * Interprets SPC data and makes process improvements. * Follows and participates in plant safety/housekeeping guidelines designed to ensure a safe work environment. * Remains compliant with SQF / HACCP requirements as per this location’s written “Food Safety & Quality Policy” Qualifications, Education and Experience: * To perform this job successfully, an individual must be able to perform each essential duty satisfactorily. Mathematical Skills/Equipment: Ability to add and subtract three digit numbers and to multiply and divide with 10's and 100's. Ability to perform these operations using units of American money and weight measurement, volume, and distance. Reasoning Ability: Ability to apply common sense understanding to carry out instructions furnished in written, oral, or diagram form. Ability to deal with problems involving several variables in standardized situations. The employee must regularly lift and/or move up to 10 pounds, frequently lift and/or move up to 25 pounds, and occasionally lift and/or move up to 75 pounds. Specific vision abilities required by this job include close vision, distance vision, color vision, peripheral vision, depth perception, and ability to adjust focus. Work Environment: The work environment characteristics described here are representative of those an employee encounters while performing the essential functions of this job. While performing the duties of this job, the employee is regularly exposed to moving mechanical parts and vibration. The noise level in the work environment is usually very loud.
