We are seeking a compassionate and dedicated experienced Play Therapist to join our team as a full time (40 hours). The ideal candidate will be experienced in using play therapy techniques to help young children and adolescents navigate emotional, psychological, and social challenges. The therapist will work collaboratively with families, schools, and other healthcare providers to create a supportive and healing environment for young clients.Key Responsibilities: Conduct play therapy sessions with children and adolescents, utilizing various techniques such as therapeutic play, art, and other expressive therapies. - Assess and diagnose emotional, behavioral, and psychological disorders. - Develop individualized treatment plans based on each client's needs, goals, and progress. - Provide family therapy sessions to support family dynamics and enhance the overall treatment process. - Maintain accurate and confidential records of all therapy sessions, assessments, and progress reports. - Collaborate with other professionals, including teachers, doctors, and social workers, to ensure comprehensive care for clients. - Participate in regular supervision, training, and professional development opportunities to stay current with best practices in play therapy. - Educate parents and guardians on the therapeutic process and strategies to support their child’s emotional and psychological development at home. - Attend and contribute to team meetings, case conferences, and other organizational functions. - Adhere to all ethical, legal, and professional standards set forth by regulatory bodies and the organization.Qualifications: - Master’s or Doctoral degree in Counseling, Psychology, Social Work, or a related field. - Current registration and certification as a Play Therapist (RPT) through the Association for Play Therapy (APT) or equivalent experience.Minimum of 3 years of experience in providing play therapy to children and adolescents. - Strong understanding of child development, trauma-informed care, and various therapeutic modalities. - Excellent interpersonal and communication skills, with the ability to build rapport with clients and their families. - Ability and willingness to work collaboratively within a multidisciplinary team. - Commitment to ongoing professional development and staying informed on the latest research and techniques in play therapy. Specialized training or certification in additional therapeutic approaches (e.g., sandplay, filial therapy). Must want to work as part of our collective team. We are looking for a candidate who wants looks forward to participation in team meetings, is energetic, and loves to bring new ideas and information to our group. Private office, and supplies provided.
