About the position: At College Hunks, we call our foremen "Captains" because you are responsible for piloting your team in the direction of success. As a Captain for College Hunks, you are the face of the company as you represent yourself, your crew, and our company in a professional manner to our clients while on the job. You will have the chance to handle the personal belongings and furniture of each of our clients, ensuring a Stress-Free moving experience. Our success starts with you! We are looking for LEADERS!We are also trying to identify future managers that can help take on some office responsibilities as well. While the primary focus of this role will be as a Captain on the move trucks, you will also have some part-time management duties, particularly on the weekends. You will support our Operations Manager with whatever they need help with and occasionally fill-in for him when he is out of the office. The Assistant Manager position must be earned by first proving you are a reliable Captain on the trucks before consideration for management can begin.You will be fully immersed in a fast-paced, multi-faceted work environment where you get to be exposed to different types of professional work such as: Sales, Marketing, Logistics, Customer Service, Conflict Resolution, and Communication. Responsibilities: Coordinate each job carefully, you are the leader (Captain)! Go out of your way to be friendly (smile, eye contact, small-talk) to everyone whom you come in contact with throughout the day – especially your clients. Look, act like, and be a friendly HUNK – starting with the uniform (shirt tucked in, hat straight, pants at the waist), and continuing with your attitude and service (smiles and eye contact). SAFELY operate at all times. This goes for while you are driving, and while you are completing each job! Make sure your truck inspections are performed (equipment, gas, cleanliness, etc). Be able to make logistical decisions (when to dispose of, what to donate or recycle, how to best complete a job, how to package items and load a truck, how to market during downtime). Lead your team by example, showing them what the core values of the company are all about. Mentor and train new hires on day to day operations and how to live out our core values. Prevent careless and costly mistakes, including damage, injury, unhappy clients, lost equipment, etc. Check-in regularly throughout the day with direct supervisor for additional assignments and troubleshooting guidance. Pay: Captains have uncapped earning potential. Captains average over $20/hr Captains make bonus/commission on the following: -Materials they sell on the job (tape, shrinkwrap, bubblewrap, boxes, etc.)-"Junk on Move" (hauling away unwanted items at the time of a move)-Valuations (item coverage above the state minimum) Drivers also earn a hefty driver bonus for driving safely. Qualifications: Must be able to lift 75lbs solo and over 100lbs with a team (physically fit) Reliable transportation to and from work (your own vehicle) Valid Texas Driver's License a MUST Eligible to work in the United States Drug and alcohol-free (we do random testing) Must be able to pass a federal background check Must be available on weekends as well as weekdays Benefits: Being a part of a team with great attitudes and work ethic.
