Description:
The Estimator works with project managers and branch manager to produce consistent, detailed construction project repair estimates. Key Responsibilities Creates project estimates Conducts job site observations Tracks and meets deadlines set by clients and managers Reads and interprets plans and repair specifications from engineers and architects Incorporates OSHA and building code requirements into all estimates Qualifies and contacts subcontractors to bid specific trade items if required to do so Proficient use of Xactimate estimating software Adjusting experience Work with and build relationships with insurance adjusters and clients Works as a team with other RE employees Reports to work as scheduled Meets regularly with manager to review progress of ongoing jobs and to discuss problem decisions outside of his/her limits of his/her authority/control Participates in safety meetings; wear the proper personal protective equipment Commit to hours outside of normal workday Performs all not otherwise stated above as directed by supervisor Performs the duties above efficiently and effectively and in a workmanlike manner Physical Demands Be able to stand and walk for long periods of time Be able to sit for long periods of time in front of a computer and plans Be able to work in confined/enclosed spaces for moderate periods of time Be able to climb ladders and stairs throughout day and be able to work/inspect work at a height of over 6 feet Be able to kneel, crouch, stoop, twist, reach, push, pull and grasp throughout the day Vision to read printed materials Hearing and speech to communicate in person or over telephone Be able to work outside in all weather Skills and Abilities Excellent written and verbal communication skills Ability to get along with others Ability to prioritize, exercise sound independent judgment, and communicate with co-workers Excellent problem solving skills Ability to exercise sound independent judgment Strong customer service skills Strong knowledge of construction methods and construction safety laws Education and Experience Minimum 3 years' experience in the construction industry Ground up or remodel experience High school diploma or equivalent Associates degree in construction science/construction management, or equivalent of work experience *Reasonable accommodations may be made to enable individuals with disabilities to perform the essential functions.
