The Equipment Operator is responsible for safely and productively operating construction equipment such as track type excavators, skid steer loaders, dozers, backhoes, digger derricks, directional drills, and dump trucks to excavate, grade and prepare excavation areas. Operate equipment such as backhoes, trenchers, skid-steer loaders, digger derricks, bucket trucks, and traffic loop saws in a safe and appropriate manner to install and maintain traffic and roadway lighting. Operate equipment on public roadways, maintaining proper awareness of surroundings and work environment. Installs traffic signal loops to include preparing and cutting the road, washing and drying with compressed air, and installing wire and sealant. Perform daily maintenance and safety checks of equipment. Conduct pre-operational checks on equipment, and clean, lubricate and refill equipment as necessary. Loads/unloads materials and tools and keeps site and vehicle storage areas clean and organized. Transport tools, materials, equipment, and supplies to needed areas of the Digs trenches/holes for underground installations. Assists with the installation of conduit such at EMT conduit, Rigid conduit, PVC conduit, corrugated pipe, and O-Cal, including cutting and threading using hand and power tools. Assists with pulling cables of various sizes. Assists with installation of poles, lights, traffic signals, duct banks, ground boxes, manholes, handholes, and other electrical systems as needed. Utilize hand and power tools, including cutting devices, drills, saws, hydraulic, and pneumatic. Assists with concrete work as needed, including preparation, shoveling/placing, and finishing. Operate compaction devices such as tampers and rollers. worksite, either by hand or mechanical means. Picks up tools and equipment and secures job site each day. Performs work in a safe manner in compliance with all federal, state, local, project, and company safety requirements. Maintains hand and power tools in good operating condition. Maintains PPE and safety equipment in good condition. Utilize hand and power tools, including cutting devices, drills, saws, hydraulic, and pneumatic. Assists with concrete work as needed, including preparation, shoveling/placing, and finishing. Operate compaction devices such as tampers and rollers. Performs work in a safe manner in compliance with all federal, state, local, project, and company safety requirements. Maintains hand and power tools in good operating condition. Maintains PPE and safety equipment in good condition. Qualifications Education: High School Diploma or GED. Experience: Must have a minimum of 1-2 years of experience working on roadway lighting, traffic signals, and underground/overhead projects. Must have a minimum of 3-5 years of experience operating equipment, to include but not limited to: backhoes, trenchers, skid-steer loaders, digger derricks, and bucket trucks. IMSA Work Zone Certification preferred. Experience working with hand tools and power tools. Demonstrates safe work habits and proper care for tools and equipment. Ability to work in all types of weather. Must have a valid driver's license (CDL A preferred). High standard of integrity and professionalism.
