Classes are designed to assist students in developing the English Language skills necessary to achieve their social and professional needs. Instructors will provide educational activities within the scope of a developed curriculum that assists students in achieving their goals. The use of multiple teaching strategies to serve the diverse needs of adult learners is expected. Responsibilities:Deliver instruction and conduct assigned classesPrepare lessons and syllabus based on approved curriculum and syllabus templateEnsure student enrollment, attendance, and grades are submitted in a timely mannerWork with Transition Advisors to insure student persistence and transitionComplete New Teacher OrientationFulfill State mandated 12 hours of Adult Education Professional Development per fiscal yearMinimum QualificationsBachelor's degree in Education, English, or related fieldStrong technology skillsExperience working with diverse non-traditional Adult LearnersDesire to help change livesPreferred Qualifications:Master's degree in Adult Education or related fieldTESOL CertificationICCB Adult Education Standards Certification or STAR (Reading Specialist) trainingUnderstanding of Canvas, DAISI, Burlington English, or Reading PlusPlease attach the following documents when applying: 1 Cover Letter-Yes 2 Resume-Yes 3 References-No (Can be provided at interview) 4 Unofficial Transcripts-Yes (Official will be required if hired)Position Detailsreq1795Grant Funded: YesWork Schedule: 2 days per week, 6pm to 9pm or 9am to 12pm Testing: No Targeted Hire Date: 7/29/2024Special Instructions: English Language Acquisition (ESL) classes meet face to face 2 days per week in the evening 6pm to 9pm or in the morning 9am to 12pm.
