Working/Functional Title Elevator Mechanic Position Summary Salary- $37.84 - $44.90 - upon meeting the progression step requirements. Unit Specific Education/Experience/Skills Completion of high school education or equivalent combination of technical training and experience. Successful completion of an applicable trade-specific Trades Helper program, or completion of an approved apprenticeship program, or an associate degree, or equivalent education/experience. Five years of experience in commercial elevator installation, maintenance and troubleshooting that includes five years of commercial experience in the elevator installation and maintenance trade and demonstrated ability to independently perform the duties and responsibilities of the classification, or equivalent experience. Possession of a valid State of Michigan Class A or B Elevator License. Expert knowledge of methods, materials, tools, equipment, occupational hazards, and safety precautions of the trade. Expert knowledge of applicable electrical codes, rules, and regulations (local, state, and federal). Possession of a valid vehicle operator's license. Must furnish own hand tools. Frequent lifting of 26 to 75 pounds and occasional lifting of over 75 pounds. Desired Qualifications Experience with Motion Control Engineering; certification in IMC-AC, Power of I Control, PHC Hydraulic Controller, GAL Galaxy Controller, Smart Rise Engineering Controller, Hollister Whitney Machines, GAL Door Equipment; Certified Elevator Technician (CET); QEI certified, strong written and verbal communication/interpersonal skills; established problem solving skills; good customer relations/service skills; ability to work as an effective member of a team.
