The Electronic Technician's responsibilities are to assist in the planning, development, and design of complex electrical components. Leading the assembly, test, repairs, analysis, overhaul, and modification of these electronic, mechanical, or electro-mechanical assemblies and systems working from rough outlines or written and oral instructions. Develop failure analysis and documentation as necessary. Coordinate, develop, and lead multiple projects of a complex nature requiring various electronic assembly operations necessary to produce units. Set up test stations and standardized calibration of the equipment per the required specifications as needed. Utilize the appropriate equipment to perform the tasks and meet all quality specifications and workmanship standards. Works with the support personnel (including engineers, management, and production control) as needed to perform assignments and collaborate on problem resolutions, completion of assignments promptly, and continuous process improvements. Performs assignments with efficiency and effectiveness to obtain schedule and cost while ensuring quality products are produced. PRIMARY DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES: Under close supervision, performs routine technical functions related to the support of development engineering activities such as design, test, checkout, fabrication, modification, and assembly of electronics and Electro-mechanical systems, experimental design circuitry, prototype models, or specialized test equipment. Applications may include analog, digital, and/or video-type circuits and logic systems. Guidance is readily available from superiors. Works from schematics, diagrams, written and verbal descriptions, layouts, or defined plans to perform routine testing, checkout, troubleshooting, prototype building, environmental testing, and simple developmental engineering tasks. Performs routine operational tests and fault isolation on development systems and equipment to ensure conformance with design specifications. Diagnoses and isolates malfunctions down to the component level. Conducts defined engineering tests and collects data as assigned. Utilizes routine development or diagnostic equipment including oscilloscope, VOM, DVM, signal generators, and similar test apparatus. Normally assigned in areas such as development, engineering, test equipment design, or the like. Excludes those assigned to production test activities. Entry Level. Excludes trainees with no academic preparation or experience. EXPERIENCE and TRAINING: Electronics training is equivalent to 2 years of technical trade school or military technical school.* Point of contact between supervisor and technician test priorities.* Communicates with multiple shifts with workload priorities.* Handles training updates with 499 and 329 test documents.* Oversees GITHUB revision checks and weekly equipment swaps.* Cross-trains other techs on sensor failures and software changes to equipment.* Works closely with engineering on test documentation updates. Basic Qualifications: * High School diploma or equivalent and 4 years additional education and/or related experience.* Excellent interpersonal and organizational skills, ability to work effectively with all levels and in a team environment.* Experience working in a production environment.* Familiarity with electronic test equipment such as power supplies, amplifiers, Environmental Chambers, and Vibration Equipment.* Minimal supervision. May assist in orienting, training, assigning, and checking the work of lower-level employees.* Ability to work in a versatile environment, performing parallel tasks and duties.* Ability to adhere to and follow local processes, procedures, and protocols. Preferred Requirements: * Electrical, RF, GPS, and mechanical experience are desired.* Ability to troubleshoot, test, and set up deliverable hardware.* Demonstrated ability to work with limited resources, documentation, or engineering support.* Ability to generate and support disposition of discrepancy documentation.* Microsoft Office Suite knowledge* TS/SCI ClearanceMANUMS Salary Range: $60,100 - $100,100The above salary range represents a general guideline; however, Northrop Grumman considers a number of factors when determining base salary offers such as the scope and responsibilities of the position and the candidate's experience, education, skills and current market conditions.Employees may be eligible for a discretionary bonus in addition to base pay. Annual bonuses are designed to reward individual contributions as well as allow employees to share in company results. Employees in Vice President or Director positions may be eligible for Long Term Incentives.
