Electrical EngineerLocation: Bradenton, FLJob ID: #6945412 month contractPay Range: $24-27Performs research, development, design, and testing of electrical components, PC Board Layout, Electronics Packaging equipment, facilities, systems, products and networks for commercial, industrial and governmental purposes.* Support the Development, Calibration and Maintenance of our test equipment and maintenance of our Colorado and Florida lab sites. * Design and build test lab test equipment and Instruments * Work with the Electrical Instrumentation Engineers to incorporate Electrical Instruments in new test equipment. * Work with the different cross *functional groups at Kidde to understand instrumentation projects needs and timelines; including but not limited to Mechanical, Electrical, Firmware, Product Test, Production, Quality and Project Management teams. * Communicate the progress of instrumentation projects to the Kidde team and leadership * Lead design reviews for test equipment development. * Collaborate with design team and test engineers to verify lab equipment meets testing procedures for fire and gas detection products. * Drive tasks closure to meet company and customer goals. * Review agency requirements to ensure equipment compliance to agency standards * Support team to become UL WTDP / DAP (witness test data program / data acceptance program). * Collaborate with the team and share ideas on process improvement * Ensure that all Kidde test equipment, at all sites, are correlated and produce similar test results. * Prioritize continuous improvement initiatives by focusing on the automation of test equipment and improving instrumentation projects processes.QUALIFICATIONS: - Bachelor's degree in electrical engineering, electronics engineering/technology or any related fields - 2+ years of design experience as an electrical engineer preferably as an instrumentation engineer. - Experience with LabView or other programming software (C++, Python..etc) - Knowledge of test sensors (ex. Transducers, photo-voltaic cells) - Experience building Radio-Frequency RF test set-ups/equipment is highly preferred - Ability to use hand and powered tools - Proficient using digital and analog testing equipment such as multi-meters, oscilloscopes and logic analyzers - Excellent self-task management/prioritization and documentation skills in a R&D or testing lab environment - Understands how to read and interpret schematics, installation sheets, and bill of materials - Demonstrated analytical and problem-solving skills with little to no supervision - Interpersonal skills to work with several departments, including engineering and production - Excellent verbal and written communication skills - General understanding of engineering equipment like soldering irons, hand-held power tools - Expert on Microsoft Office (especially Excel and macros in Excel) - Ability to stand for long periods of time and lift 50 lbs. with or without reasonable accommodation - Must be authorized to work in the U.S.A. without restrictions - The position requires up to 50% travel to our site in Colorado Springs, CO, during the first year, to learn and get familiar with the test equipment located at that location.Preferred: - Worked in the fire and gas industry with knowledge of regulatory standards such as UL268/217/521/XXXX/EN54 - Experience with LabView or other programming software (C++, Python..etc) preferred - Knowledge of test sensors (ex.
