Job Summary AKS Engineering & Forestry (AKS) is seeking an experienced licensed Electrical Engineer to join our team. As our new Electrical Engineer, you’ll lead the design of electrical systems and management of various projects ranging from private site developments to essential public works. You’ll work on impactful projects like public roadways, parks, residential communities, office complexes, and municipal facilities, making a real difference in the communities we serve. Ideal Candidate Qualifications Experience : A minimum of 5 years’ experience in full electrical design (power, lighting, and voltage). Experience designing lighting systems which include controls and compliance with state energy codes. Education: Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or related science field. License: Professional Engineer (PE) License required with ability for reciprocity in Oregon and Washington. Systems : Experience with MS Office products, AutoCAD, Revit, EasyPower, and Visual. Travel : Willingness to travel occasionally is required (extensive travel not anticipated). Must have a valid driver’s license and an acceptable driving record. Attributes : Communicative : Strong written and oral communication skills, including proposal and report writing. Organized : Ability to manage multiple deadlines and establish priorities effectively. Collaborative : Comfortable networking with clients and colleagues to build professional relationships. Detail-Oriented : Committed to delivering quality work within budgets and timelines. Proactive : Self-motivated and capable of working within a multidisciplinary team. Job Functions & Responsibilities: Your responsibilities will include overseeing all phases of electrical engineering, from proposals and preliminary engineering to detailed design, commissioning, and start-up. You’ll collaborate closely with our multidisciplinary principals and project managers on a range of exciting projects, from private site developments to essential public works facilities. Lead electrical and low-voltage design components for projects from early planning through design development and construction. Conduct technical calculations, create detailed drawings, specifications, and estimates. Assist with project feasibility studies and prepare preliminary utility infrastructure plans. Design low voltage power systems including utility coordination, circuiting, and one-line diagrams. Design street and site lighting including photometric studies and plan preparation. Draft and prepare mark ups for lighting and power systems. Conduct field inspections and perform ongoing QA/QC of deliverables. Coordinate with in-house disciplines and external subconsultants. Network with clients, agency personnel, and colleagues to foster lasting professional relationships.
