Summary: The Shlenker School is seeking a dedicated and passionate Early Childhood Teacher to join our dynamicteam for the 2024-2025 school year. Early Childhood Teachers, play a vital role in the care, supervision,and education of our young learners aged 6 weeks to 5 years old. Working collaboratively with apartner teacher, Early Childhood teachers plan and implement lessons that foster a nurturing Jewishlearning environment. The role extends beyond the classroom, as Early Childhood teachers partnerwith parents to support the holistic development of children, encompassing their physical, social,emotional, spiritual, and cognitive well-being. Responsibilities: Curriculum Planning: Plan, prepare, and supervise activities that encourage children to create,explore their environment, solve problems, and engage in hands-on experiences using age-appropriate materials. Independence and Autonomy: Provide play opportunities that allow children to initiate theselection and exploration of materials, promoting independence, autonomy, self-esteem, and asense of mastery. Positive Role Modeling: Serve as a positive role model, offering supportive, nurturing, warm,and responsive care tailored to individual children's needs. Parental Engagement: Maintain positive relationships with parents and primary caregivers,fostering open communication and collaboration in the child's development. Professionalism: Demonstrate professionalism in work habits, engage in ongoing professionaldevelopment, and maintain a positive attitude when working with co-workers. Required Skills: Degree or certification in early childhood education, child development, education, or a relatedfield (experience may be substituted for a degree in some cases). Experience working with young children Understanding and agreement with guidelines for developmentally appropriate practice. Strong working knowledge of Minimum Standards and NAEYC Accreditation Standards andCriteria. Passion for working with children, demonstrated through warm, nurturing, and friendlyinteractions. Ability to understand and implement emergency procedures in a calm manner. Openness to constructive feedback from supervisor(s). Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to relate well to children of varying developmentalcapabilities. Excellent multitasking abilities with flexibility to adapt to transitions and changes. Mature attitude that facilitates effective communication, problem-solving, and anticipation offellow workers' needs.
