Our mission is to provide for the health and wellness needs of the underserved of Oakland County through the provision of comprehensive, integrated primary, behavioral health, and dental care. IMPORTANT: All applications MUST be completed in it’s entirety to be considered. *NOTE: COVID -19 Vaccinations are recommended Position Description Reporting to the Director of Maternal Child Health, the Doula Coordinator will support community-based Doula services at Honor Community Health. The Doula Coordinator will work collaboratively with the Director of Maternal Child Health to develop Doula workflows, policies and protocols, educational presentations, and trainings for the Maternal Child Health Community Health Worker and Doula workforce. Additionally, in collaboration with the Coordinator, Obstetric Services, the Doula Coordinator will provide support and daily direction to Doula staff, contribute to data tracking and reporting, provide outreach and education, and provide support to patients as a Doula with a minimal caseload. The Doula Coordinator is a valuable team member of the Maternal and Child Health care team and will collaborate closely with family physicians, nurse practitioners, physician assistants, nurses, medical assistants, medical receptionists, behavioral health clinicians, managers, and administration. This position is grant-funded and may be time-limited depending on grant funding renewals.The Doula Coordinator must be willing to participate in a work schedule that may include on-call hours to meet patient needs and demands, including working evenings and weekends, especially once services integrate into labor and birth support. What are we looking for? Must have a High School Diploma, GED or higher, and three letters of recommendation. Bachelor’s degree in public health, social work, community health, or related field is highly preferred. Must have Doula certification or be in the process of completing Doula certification with an approved agency. Certified Lactation Counselor training must be completed within one year of employment. Community Health Worker certification highly desired. Must have knowledge and experience in working with the Microsoft Suite (e.g, Excel, Word, PowerPoint). Experience with Electronic Health Records and documentation highly preferred. The ideal candidate for this role has lived experience, identifies with our patient population, and is an advocate for women, birthing persons, and families. Two years of experience directly related to the duties and responsibilities specified is preferred. Experience working in reproductive and/or maternal child health preferred. Additional language fluency in Spanish highly preferred.
