LOCATION: Uniship Courier Services, 78 Freedom Parkway, Hermon, Maine 04401 REPORTS TO: Operations Manager, Office Manager QUALIFICATIONS: Minimum of a high school diploma required. Computer experience including Microsoft Windows and Office required. Must have excellent communication skills (telephone, written, verbal). Must be detail-oriented, well organized, and able to multi-task. Must possess good interpersonal skills and work well in a team environment. Must be able to follow instructions and work independently. Must be able to display a professional attitude with clients and other employees at all times. Area knowledge of the State of Maine and valid Maine license required. General knowledge of medical specimen handling, containment and storage preferred. HOURS: 40 hours per week (5 days/week), POSITION SUMMARY: Dispatch/ReceptionistResponsible for answering phones and dispatching call requests to couriers Answer phones Dispatch messages Maintain daily phone log Interact with clients, couriers, and supervisors Stay current with courier route changes Maintain a harmonious working relationship with company personnel Responsible for general office workInteract with Accounting Dept. Send supplies/route sheets/copies to Portland Office Sign for incoming supplies/deliveries ATTENDANCE/RELIABILITY: Has no more than 5 unscheduled absences. Works 40 hours per week. Is rarely tardy for work. WORKING CONDITIONS: Works inside, but office is attached to working loading docks. Works in close proximity to couriers with occasional noise and distractions. Possible exposure to hazardous and infectious materials and chemical odors, including formaldehyde exists. Requires occasional moderate lifting, sitting, bending, twisting, crouching, and reaching. PHYSICAL REQUIRMENTS: Must be able to sit 6-8 hours daily. Must be able to lift and carry up to 20 pounds (copy paper/deliveries). Must be able to hold neck in static position and flex and rotate neck.
