Job Summary: The Director of Licensing and Business Development is primarily responsible for leading the Business Development activities by identifying business growth opportunities and to negotiate and secure Licensing deals. The principal objective is to work with industrial customers to reduce their carbon footprint by developing and providing Alterra value proposition for the implementation of circular plastic solutions.This position will also be responsible for hiring, onboarding, and leading a team of individuals as Alterra expands worldwide activities. Reporting to the Chief Commercial Officer, the role will be full-time, exempt and physically located in Houston, Texas. Duties/Responsibilities: Lead the Business Development activities and related initiatives. Identify and assess Licensing Business Opportunities, Partnerships, Joint Venture, M&A and Other initiatives for sustaining the growth of the Alterra Licensing Business. Build a sustainable and economically viable pipeline of projects for the implementation of Plastic Circularity solutions worldwide. Secure leads and finalize deals (Business Development, Commercial and Contract Negotiation, Partnerships, etc). Create a valuable network supporting licensing activities around the globe for next phase growth. Ensure collaboration with internal and external functions and organizations for successful technology commercialization. Build partnerships with external EPC service, technology providers and petrochemical/refinery partners. Lead, coach, develop, and mentor future team to foster high quality work execution and a positive team culture in an evolving environment. Interview, hire, and onboard new employees. Provide performance feedback and set individual annual goals and objectives.
