1:1 Part-time Support Staff Need (Job #GC-AS) A young female that lives in East Syracuse is looking for a Direct Support Professional to assist her with 6 hours of community habilitation support a week. Her interests include coloring, playing on her tablet, helping others cook/bake. The individual enjoys swimming in her pool in the yard and going to her local park. She benefits from structured activities that are planned prior to the day. You'll work side by side to improve her physical fitness, independent living skills, and providing structured recreational activities. The ideal candidate has experience working with young adults and supporting people who are developing their communication skills; experience managing behaviors and developing communication skills is preferred. This is a part-time position but additional hours are available with other people receiving services at the agency. Hours and days of work: up to 6 hours per week, Monday-Friday 2:45pm until 7pm. Consistency and reliability are necessary for success in this position. Starting pay : Starting pay is $18.50/hour and increases with years of relevant experience Location: East Syracuse, NY Qualifications: Must be at least 18 years old Ability to work independently in the person's home and/or community Reliable with effective communication and organizational skills No experience required though experience working with people with disabilities preferred New York State Driver's license, reliable transportation, and proof of auto insurance is required; acceptable driving record required Must have technology available to download multiple apps for use in the community EOE In efforts to continue to recruit and retain the best staff, Exceptional Family Resources is pleased to announce the 2024 Employee Retention Bonus. The bonus will be a payment equal to 3% of wages earned from 6/9/2024 to 11/9 /2024. Background check, fingerprinting and DMV record check will be conducted prior to hire by the non-profit agency.
