Customer Accounts Officer Thatcham, Berkshire Full Time – 37 Hours Temporary I am currently searching for a prospective Customer Accounts Officer to join our team, on a full time, temporary basis with an initial contract period of 3 months. The Customer Accounts Officer will be delivering tenure blind income recovery services within the local area. The ideal candidate will prioritise excellent customer service, and take proactive action to manage customer accounts and prevent customer debt. Please note that a full UK Driving Licence and access to a vehicle is essential for this role. Requirements Excellent knowledge of welfare benefit entitlements, particularly housing related benefits, as well as local grants that may be available to customers Up to date knowledge of regulations, legislation, and best practice, specifically relating to arrears prevention and collection Ability or previous experience of preparing relevant paperwork for Court, and ability to carry out D. I. Y possession action Experience presenting cases in Court is desirable Knowledge of IT processes, including Word and Excel Full UK Driving License and access to vehicle This role requires travel between Berkshire, Wiltshire, and Andover, so locality is key Role Expectations Work proactively and collaboratively to take action to manage customer accounts, prevent and action customer debt Offer advice to customers and refer to relevant internal and external agencies offering welfare and debt advice, and more specialist support where necessary Complete comprehensive Income and Expenditure statements with customers in order to create realistic repayment plans Work with key internal and external partners, including Housing Benefit, Department of.
