Practice Area: Criminal Law - Defense, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 2 Years, A law firm in Modesto, CA, is seeking a dedicated Criminal Defense Attorney to manage a diverse caseload and provide exceptional legal representation to clients facing criminal charges.Duties:Manage a caseload of criminal cases from inception through resolution.Advise clients on their legal rights and options in criminal matters.Attend and represent clients at pretrial hearings and advise on strategies.Conduct legal research and analysis to assess case outcomes and strategies.Prepare and draft legal documents, including motions, pleadings, and appeals.Interview witnesses, gather evidence, and prepare clients for depositions.Negotiate plea agreements with prosecutors on behalf of clients.Represent clients in court proceedings, including trials and sentencing hearings.Maintain accurate and detailed case files and documentation.Requirements:Juris Doctor (JD) degree from an accredited law school.Admission to the California State Bar with good standing.Minimum of 2+ years of experience in criminal defense practice.Proven track record of handling complex criminal cases at federal, state, and local levels.Strong courtroom presence and ability to advocate persuasively for clients.Excellent written and verbal communication skills.Ability to work independently and manage a high-volume caseload effectively.Bilingual proficiency in Spanish preferred.Strong interpersonal skills and ability to collaborate effectively with colleagues.Skills:Legal research and analytical skills.Negotiation and advocacy skills.Case management and organizational skills.Attention to detail and accuracy in legal documentation.Proficiency in legal software and technology.Ability to prioritize tasks and meet deadlines under pressure.Benefits:Competitive compensation package commensurate with experience.Medical, dental, and vision insurance.Paid parking and paid time off (vacation, sick leave, holidays).Professional development opportunities and continuing legal education support.
