Join our team at Merit Brass Company as a Controller! As the Controller, you’ll oversee budgeting, financial reporting, and strategic planning, ensuring the organization’s fiscal health. If you’re a detail-oriented finance professional with strong analytical skills, we’d love to hear from you! Objectives: Plans, organizes, directs, and controls the accounting and control function of the company, reports operational results, and partners with the business to drive financial performance. Uphold the Merit Brass corporate mission statement, acting with a sense of urgency and upholding the core values as published. Essential Functions: Coordinates and administers an adequate plan for the control of operations. Such a plan provides profit planning, sales forecasts, expense budgets, accounts receivable, cost standards and saving opportunities, and capital investing, together with the necessary controls and procedures to effectuate the plan. Compares performance with operating plans and standards. Provides reports and interprets the results of operations to all levels of management. This includes the formulation of accounting policies, the preparation of financial statements and operating data, the coordination of systems and procedures, and special reports as required. Forecasts short-range and long-range cash requirements and obligations, as a basis for maintaining adequate funds. Oversees the Credit and Collection department. Establishes and implements a sound operational and organizational plan in direct support of the business plan. Oversees the Accounts Payable function. Monitors inventory levels and advises management regarding variances to budget. Owns cost accounting responsibilities. Compiles and reports to banks all debt compliance reporting. Assumes other special activities and responsibilities as required. Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Accounting, Business, Finance, or related field. A minimum of five (5) years' experience, ideally with previous management oversight. Working knowledge of manual and automated accounting systems, well-developed financial analysis capabilities. Sound administrative skills. Well-developed management skills—principles and people. Proven ability to recruit, train, and motivate personnel in order to balance staffing strength with profitability and growth. products (Excel, Word, Outlook) .
