A DAY IN THE LIFE AS A CONSTRUCTION ESTIMATOR In this Construction Estimator role, we rely on you to help with our company's growth and business development. Much of your time is spent forging prositive relationships with architects, engineers, owners, and subcontractors as you utilize your strong communication and interpersonal skills. You prepare detailed instructions to bidders, trade-specific scopes of work, and comprehensive bid packages. Additionally, you qualify supplier/subcontractor bid proposals and negotiate subcontracts. To obtain bids, you manage drawing distribution to prospective suppliers/subcontractors. On top of keeping communication open to ensure smooth operations, you are hands-on from project start to finish. You play an active role in each stage of design and you prepare detailed conceptual cost estimates, quantity take-offs, and cost estimates. Being highly detailed, you review project plans, requirements, drawings, and specifications allowing you to construct accurate estimates. You are an effective liaison between our company and customers to maintain effective communication and manage project expectations. You are diligent to follow up with questions, needs, and/or concerns so customers feel confident and comfortable and projects stay on schedule. At the end of the day, you take great pride in your role of facilitating seamless projects that result in full customer satisfaction! QUALIFICATIONS At least 3 years of experience as a Commercial Construction Estimator Completed Bachelor's degree preferably in engineering, construction management, architecture, or another applicable experience Previous experience preparing detailed conceptual cost estimates and conceptual cost studies from schematic or feasibility level documentation Competent knowledge and understanding of unit costs and the factors that affect construction cost Basic computer skills in Microsoft Office Suite, Estimating software (Sage/Timberline or similar), Project Management software (Procore or similar), and Scheduling software (Project or similar) Are you goal-oriented and self-motivated?
