Practice Area: Litigation - Commercial, Job Type: Attorney, Firm Type: Law Firm, Experience: 3 Years, A law firm in New York City is seeking a skilled Complex Litigation Associate Attorney with a strong background in research, writing, and advocacy. The ideal candidate will have experience in New York CPLR court appearances and possess a proactive approach to taking responsibility for cases. Duties:Conduct legal research and analysis to support complex litigation cases.Draft and prepare legal documents, including pleadings, motions, and briefs.Represent clients in court appearances, both in New York State and Federal courts.Collaborate with senior attorneys and participate in depositions (first or second chair).Handle insurance and reinsurance-related representations and engage in regulatory and insurance-centric transactional work. Requirements:Demonstrate strong organizational skills and the ability to work independently with minimal supervision.Assume responsibility for managing and overseeing assigned cases.Preferably possess Spanish language proficiency.Judicial clerkship experience is a plus.NY Bar admission is required.Minimum of 3 years of complex commercial litigation experience. Education:Juris Doctor (JD) from an accredited law school. Certifications:NY Bar admission. Skills:Strong research, writing, analytical, and advocacy skills.Familiarity with the New York CPLR.Experience in court appearances (first or second chair) in New York State and Federal courts.Proficiency in insurance and reinsurance-related representations.Knowledge of regulatory and insurance-centric transactional work.Highly organized and able to work independently.Excellent academic credentials. Although more commonly thought of as a Washington, DC, firm, this New York office has many of the same practice areas. As this firm continues to grow its New York office, this is a tremendous opportunity for associates to get in on the ground floor in terms of shaping the character of the office. We like the litigation work that is being done in this office, as it has a decidedly corporate bent, with an emphasis on securities litigations. A down-to-earth group of attorneys, this office should emerge as a practice unto itself over time.
