To learn more about Union Settlement, visit www.unionsettlement.org Position: Community School Director Department: Youth Services Reports to: Deputy Director of Young Adult Empowerment Hours: Full-Time Salary: $60,000 - $70,000 FLSA: Exempt Location: On-site Positions Reporting to this Role: Position Summary: Union Settlement seeks an exceptional Community School Director who will ensure that all of Union Settlement's youth programming in Esperanza Preparatory Academy is of the highest quality, utilizing outcome-based measurements and additional direct tracking methods. The Community School Director is responsible for monitoring and reporting results against performance goals. This is a full-time position supporting the Union Settlements team and serves as an advisor to the principal, providing leadership for coordinating the work of different partners within the school, and aligning the work of partners with the school faculty, including but not limited to organizing and leading CBO providers meeting. The CSD is an integral part of this approach in integrating and aligning school- and community-based services throughout an expanded learning day (such as health, mental health, counseling, and academic enrichment). Responsibilities : Responsible for recruitment and supervision of staff that meets and exceeds Union Settlements and 21 CCLC standards. Work with school leadership to maintain a focus on results and track program progress. Ensure that the Union Settlement programs are capturing and analyzing data. Organize and oversee the collection of the school's needs assessment data and seek input from school staff, partners, parents, and students to assess the ongoing needs of students and their families. Serve as the lead for all programs within the school and external programs looking to form a partnership with the school. Ensure that their goals align with the school's goals and needs. Track and monitor the impact of interventions on high-need students. Build relationships to bring resources to enhance the out-of-school time programming during the summer and school year. Program activities should include but are not limited to parent, family, and community engagement, mental health, holiday, and summer programming. Support all Union Settlement programs in the building with resource management and development, including grant maintenance. Coordinate the allocation of space for students and CBOs. Participate in all school leadership meetings, school community meetings, CBO, and specialized meetings such as attendance meetings. Work closely with the SONYC Director, COMPASS High Director, and College Readiness Advisors. Create opportunities for parent involvement. Promote all Union Settlement programs in SLT, attendance, and school functions. Serve as the organization's lead building ambassador. Ensure compliance with all DOE and DOHMH regulations. Monitor student attendance, ratios, and program safety for US programs and the 21 CCLC program. Ensure that data is entered accurately and promptly. Ensure that all new hires are supported. Complete payroll for all 21 CCLC employees. Report all incidents in a timely manner and maintain all incident reports. Ensure that all budgetary and compliance documents are tracked. Monitor the inventory of all program electronics for all US programs. Qualifications: Bachelor's degree in Education, Counseling, Business or related field from an accredited institution required, Master's degree preferred not required; At least two years of supervisory experience in any funded DYCD or 21CCLC or similar program; At least four years working with students from diverse cultural and educational backgrounds; and Demonstrated background of having overcome similar backgrounds as the program participants; Bilingual (English/Spanish) required; and Proof of COVID-19 Vaccination is required.
