Morgan, Lewis & Bockius LLP, one of the world's leading global law firms with offices in strategic hubs of commerce, law, and government across North America, Asia, Europe, and the Middle East, is seeking a temp-to-hire Community Engagement Coordinator.Leading from a socially responsible and community driven approach, ML Community Engagement is a central tenet of our firm's culture, bringing our people together to positively impact the communities where we live and work through sustainability, charitable giving, and volunteerism.Serving as a key member of the firmwide Community Engagement team, the Community Engagement Coordinator will be responsible for providing a broad range of administrative, substantive, and project management support to the firm's global corporate social responsibility program including our sustainability, charitable giving, and volunteerism initiatives. This position works closely with and reports directly to the Senior Manager of Community Engagement and can sit in any of the following offices: New York City, Philadelphia or Washington DC.A hybrid in-office/remote working schedule is available for this position. PRIMARY FUNCTIONS AND RESPONSIBILITIES Sustainability Support global ML Sustainability Working Group with firmwide sustainability agenda, goals, and local programs.Prepare presentations and related materials for ML Sustainability Working Group meetings.Write short submissions on sustainability issues and resources for publication in our internal newsletter.Collect and organize information on firmwide sustainability data, including Green House Gas emissions, for third-party assessments.Partner with internal and external stakeholders to understand current sustainability data and support decarbonization efforts.Support responses to sustainability and environmental, social and governance (ESG) inquiries on client requests-for-proposals, surveys, and third-party platforms.Assist with production of the firm's annual Responsible Business Report.Stay informed of current sustainability trends and ESG regulations and gather information/resources for internal use. Charitable Giving: Work collaboratively with local offices to maintain accurate data on community and nonprofit partnerships.Collect information from local offices on outcomes of philanthropic initiatives such as fundraisers and donation drives.Facilitate logistics for firmwide and local employee giving campaigns as needed.Monitor data for Morgan Lewis Foundation scholarship recipients and law school partnerships.Prepare materials as needed for Morgan Lewis Foundation.Stay abreast of current global events to identify opportunities to contribute firm resources towards social causes. Volunteerism: Assist with project management functions as it relates to community engagement programs and event planning globally.Track, report, and evaluate Corporate Social Responsibility (CSR) programming for participation and effectiveness.Draft short story submissions on volunteerism initiatives as needed for publication in our internal newsletter.Conduct research and compile memos on a wide array of corporate social responsibility themes.Develop volunteer resources and guides to post on the intranet for service days such as Martin Luther King Jr. Day and Juneteenth.Maintain community engagement page on firm's intranet site, including adding and updating volunteer opportunities, training materials, and templates. Other: Support external website review and intranet site updates to ensure accuracy.Maintain departmental information organized on electronic document management system.Other duties as assigned. EXPERIENCE/QUALIFICATIONS: Bachelor's degree and three (3) years of professional experience in a law firm or other professional services setting preferred or equivalent combination of education and experience.Experience tracking sustainability data, including greenhouse gas emissions, required.Knowledge in environmental science, energy, sustainability, business, environmental humanities, or related field preferred.Professional demeanor and excellent communication skills paired with a service-oriented attitude.Strong interpersonal skills with the ability to interact effectively with a variety of people, including senior professionals.Passion for Corporate Social Responsibility and Sustainability.Excellent judgment, including sensitivity to confidential information.Strong organizational and project management skills are essential with a focus on attention to detail, problem solving, and the ability to multitask in a fast-paced, dynamic professional environment.Excellent writing, proofreading, and editing skills including ability to tailor written work product to appropriate audience.Proficiency in the use of Microsoft applications, including Excel, Outlook, PowerPoint, Word, and database applications.A self-starter with the ability to work independently and as part of a team.Flexibility to work overtime is required.Qualified candidates must apply online by visiting our website at www.morganlewis.com and selecting "Careers."#LI-Hybrid#LI-DT1For positions in NY, the salary range for this job posting is $71,815.00 - $114,904.00.The base salary or hourly wage range for this position will be determined during the interview process and will vary based on multiple factors, including but not limited to prior experience, relevant expertise, current business needs, and market factors. The final salary or hourly wages offered may be outside of this range based on other reasons and individual circumstances. Additionally, salary or hourly wages may be only part of the total compensation package. The total compensation package for this position may also include a full range of medical, financial, and/or other benefits (including 401(k) eligibility and various paid time off benefits, such as vacation, sick time, and parental leave), dependent on the position offered. Details of participation in these benefit plans will be provided if an employee receives an offer of employment.
